The Lompoc Parks, Recreation & Urban Forestry Department and Co-Sponsor Surf Connection had a successful “Annual Spring Skate Park Competition” on Sunday May 23, 2010. We had four different age divisions: (7- 9 years), (10-12 years), (13-15 years) and (16 years –up). This competition had two categories for Best Run and Best Trick. Robin from Surf Connection brought items for the raffle prizes including shoes, sweatshirts, t shirts, socks, posters and a grand finale prize of a complete skateboard! Awards for first through third place participants were awarded with metals and first place receiving a deck. Some of the top winners for Best Trick were Nick Caputo, Jason Smith, Cyrus Overton and Saxon Morris. Some of the top winners for Best Run were Johnny Bueno, Aaron Chappell and Gerardo Rodarte. Overall it was a great day to be out in Lompoc for a friendly skate competition!
