Chapter 13.16 of the City of Lompoc Municipal Code prohibits the discharge of waste generated by a self-regenerating water softener and similar devices. Check with the City to see what water softening options are currently permitted.

Food Service Establishments
The City of Lompoc has developed Best Management Practices (BMPs) to reduce the amount of Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) discharged into the City’s sanitary sewer. The City also has an approved Sanitary Sewer Management Plan (SSMP).

The City of Lompoc has developed Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the winery industry. In the future, wineries may be required to obtain a General Wastewater Discharge Permit.

Pharmaceutical and Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal
Residents of the Lompoc Valley including Mesa Oaks, Mission Hills, and Vandenberg Village, are eligible to use the City’s Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 1585 North V Street. Please call (805) 875-8027 to make an appointment. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s department also accepts unwanted pharmaceuticals; call (805) 737-7737.

Dental
Currently the City of Lompoc does not require amalgam separators to be installed at dental facilities. However, amalgam separators are a not only a good idea, but may be required in the future.
