Wastewater Plant Update

Update July 2007:

Much of the activity was been focused on the new oxidation ditches. More rebar was installed, some up to the finished elevation of the tank walls.

And the concrete pours of the ox ditch slabs and walls continued.
The excavation remaining at the northeast area of the ox ditches was started, now that all of the stone columns were installed in that area.
This remaining excavation work removed the material on top of the stone columns so the ox ditch and new secondary clarifier structures could be tied in to the columns for stability during a seismic event. After backfilling around the new aerated grit tanks, more rebar and concrete was installed.
The upgraded plant will use ultraviolet (UV) disinfection as a replacement for the current chemical disinfection system. Excavation started on the area for the new UV building.
Installation was started of the piping which will feed sludge from the lagoons to the sludge drying bed.

Check back again in September to see what happened in August.
